Distracted By Nature Organic Farms (DBN) is an 80 acre demonstration project established by Diana Dally and Paul Feezel in 1999. Located in the rolling hills of Carrollton Ohio, DBN is a beautiful, primarily wooded area that has a spring-fed 2 acre lake/pond, 2 miles of wooded trails, and a 5 acre organic fruit and berry orchard project.
Jan 2010 - Paul gets interviewed about his work with the Sierra Club and what he and Diana are doing at Distracted By Nature. See Get To Know section of January issue of Akron Life and Leisure magazine. Pages 14-15
Sept 2009 - DBN Farms takes top honors at Carrollton's Scarecrows on the Square competition. Thanks to a group effort by the Dally Clan (Sue, Caryn, Chuck...and...Paul) the themed Big Bad Wolfe and the Three Little Pigs strawbale house entry won 1st place in the Business Category. All the entries wil be on display through the third week of October.
This website is kind of a running history of what we have done, what we hope to do and what we have learned…generally the hard way. We hope that you find our journey interesting and maybe even somewhat humorous. Two city kids moving to the country and trying to switch to a more simple, agricultural lifestyle while maintaining their city jobs and social schedules — kind of sounds like the 1960’s Green Acres sitcom doesn’t it? We'll its not quite that bad 'cause at least we don't have to climb the pole to answer the telephone!
